Judith Maeuser Obituary

Judith Maeuser

Judith Maeuser, age 75, of rural Elkhart Lake WI, passed away Sunday January 11, 2015 at St. Nicholas Hospital Hospice. She was born August 24, 1939 at Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late George and Lavilla (Rautmann) Lutze of Cleveland. She attended school in the town of Centerville, and was a 1957 graduate of Kiel High School.

On May 2, 1959, Judy was united in marriage with Carl Maeuser at St. John - St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Judy worked for a few years at Bitter-Neumann in Howards Grove, and then joined Carl on the Maeuser farm in the town of Herman. A dedicated wife and mother, Judy could never sit still. She treasured her children and grandchildren, and worked side by side with Carl on the farm for many years. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ where she was a long time choir member. She traveled to Germany twice with Carl and the Immanuel UCC group. She collected model airplanes and at one point she began lessons to learn to fly. Judy also loved dogs and watching auto racing. Judy and Carl enjoyed playing cards with their high school friends and have many, many great memories of those games.

In addition to her loving husband, Carl, Judy is also survived by three children; Barbara (Allen) Perronne of Elkhart Lake, Scott Maeuser of New Berlin, and Karri (Darwin) Jaeger of Cleveland, four grandchildren: Taylor Perronne, Gwen, Ryan and Erin Jaeger, her sister Donna Munday of Barstow, CA., two brothers: Gerald Lutze of Cleveland and Larry Lutze of Manitowoc, a sister-in-law, Jeanette Meinnert of Sheboygan Falls and a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene (Carol) Maeuser of New Holstein. In addition to her parents, Judy was also preceded in death by her grandson Tony Jaeger, two brothers-in-law: Ben Munday, and Norbert Meinnert, a sister-in-law, LaVerne Maeuser, her father-in-law, Ewald Maeuser and two mothers-in-law, Roma and then Orrela Maeuser.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday January 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road, Sheboygan. Reverend Laura Yurs, pastor of Immanuel U.C.C. officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Cemetery. Friends may call at Westview on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.

Dear Carl and Family,

From Arizona, Louise and I send a loving remembrance of Judith. We learned of her passing only today, but we remember well her great courage, the faith that has sustained you all, and her feisty spirit. I recall especially your telling, Carl, of the way could drive a tractor and worked alongside you so hard on the farm. Now she rests in peace and sings with the choir of angels. May each of you find great comfort in the way she lived her life and in the promises of the Gospel which she sang with others at Immanuel.

Fondly, and with admiration, Frederick Trost
