Roger D. Christel

Roger D. Christel, age 71, formerly of Valders, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Roger was born on April 24, 1954, in Sheboygan, son of the late Eugene and Elaine (Kaiser) Christel. He graduated with the class of 1972 from Kiel High School. Roger enjoyed playing and watching Wisconsin sports. He owned grocery stores in St. Nazianz and Valders until his retirement. Roger then owned and operated Edgewood Pub & Grill in Valders and then worked for the Wisconsin Early Autism Project helping local autistic children with life skills.

Roger is survived by three children: Angela Houston, Valders, Eric Christel and his special friend Stacy Gille, Green Bay, Jessica Christel, Sheboygan; two grandchildren: Katelyn Houston, Valders, Xander Christel, Green Bay; one brother: Scott (Lori) Christel, Valders; mother of his children: Joanne Christel, Valders; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Elaine Christel; one brother: Dale Christel; two infant grandchildren; and his favorite dog Majik.

A celebration of Roger's life will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Dave Beaudry will officiate the prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
