Ronald L. Even, age 81, of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at his home.
He was born in Sheboygan on May 31, 1944, to the late Henry and Florence (Jetzer) Even. Ron graduated from North High School and continued his education, earning an associate’s degree in business administration and accounting.
In his earlier years, Ron was employed at Miller Implement in St. Nazianz. He later worked for Sheboygan County as an accounting manager, retiring in 2007 after 24 years of dedicated service.
On October 7, 1967, Ron was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sharon “Sherry” Weber, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Ron was actively involved in many organizations, including the Jaycees, Sheboygan Area Radio Kontrol Society (SHARKS), Odyssey of the Mind—where he received the “Outstanding Omer Award”—and the Boy Scouts of America. In recognition of his service, he received the organization’s highest honor for an adult volunteer, the Silver Beaver Award, in 2015.
Ron enjoyed camping with his family and the Boy Scouts, flying model airplanes, working with computers, and riding his John Deere tractor. He was known for his ability to fix just about anything, including the restoration of the “Queen Mary,” the family’s wooden boat. A kind and caring man, Ron especially cherished time spent with his family and the many memories made at Lost Lake over more than 40 years. He will be deeply missed. His legacy of service, generosity, and quiet dedication will live on through those who knew and loved him.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Sherry; his children, Lori Even and Chad (Tiffany) Even; his granddaughters, Madilyn and Chloe; his sister, Karen Russo (Rick Curtiss); his sister-in-law, Ann Even; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents and in-laws, Melvin and Bernice Weber, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Even, and two half-brothers, Henry and Harold Even.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2133 N. 22nd Street, Sheboygan, with Father Phil officiating. Family and friends may greet the family at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Ron will be entombed at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ron’s name can be made to Scouting America; https://www.scouting.org/
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the excellent care and compassion shown to Ron.
