Gary J. Mars, "Gordo"May 19, 1958 – February 14, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary James Mars, commonly known as "Gordo," on February 14, 2025, at the age of 66. Born May 19, 1958, Gary was a loving father, dedicated friend, and a man who truly lived life on his own terms.
He was a proud father to his children, Sean, Spencer, and Haley, and he treasured his time spent with them. His love for his children was immeasurable, and his spirit will live on through them.
An electrician by trade, Gary took great pride in his craft and always offered to give his best to every project. Gary was known for his sense of humor, a characteristic that endeared him to all who knew him. He could always make others laugh, often finding joy in pointing out the flaws of others with a playful spirit. His humor was just one part of what made him unforgettable.
Gary loved deeply. He loved the outdoors—particularly golfing, fishing, live music, and spending time in nature. He found peace and solace in the beauty of the natural world. A true free spirit at heart, he enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, always looking for the next adventure. He cherished the moments he shared with friends, who will remember him fondly for his warmth, laughter, spontaneous character, and impetuous passion.
Gary's jovial nature and vibrant personality made him loved by many. He had a keen sense of humor, and he will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held in Gary’s honor, in the clubhouse of Old Hickory Golf Club, 6652 Big Tree Rd, Livonia, NY 14487 on Saturday, March 15th, 2025 from Noon to 6pm.
