Gary E. Martin, 83, of Bellefontaine, OH passed away Wednesday morning, September 17, 2025, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, OH.

Gary was born on February 26, 1942, in Lima, OH, a son of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Crider) Martin. He is also preceded in death by six siblings, Larry Martin, Thomas Martin, Richard Martin, Donnie Martin, Linda VanHoose, and Judith Mayer.

On August 6, 1965, Gary married Arlene Collins in Marion, OH, and she survives. He is also survived by four daughters, Marla (Jimmy) Sprinkle of Urbana, OH, Karla (Keith) Snyder of Bellefontaine, Denise (Wes) Seebach of Belle Center, and Jennifer Martin of Bellefontaine, eight grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Moore, Brittaney (Dana) Mason, Jessica Watt, Meghan (Cass) Kemp, Tyler (Amber) Kendrick, Taryn (Travis Eshelman) Tucker, Jarett (Mckenzie) Tucker, and Trynity (Chris Powell) Tucker, 16 great grandchildren, two brothers, Steven (Hattie) Martin, and Dennis Martin, and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was a 1962 graduate of Harrod High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. Gary worked at Acusport and then at Honda ELP where he retired. He was a life member of Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39, where he was a past commander and trustee. He was also a lifetime member of Browns Backers. Gary enjoyed painting, building jigsaw puzzles, fishing, bowling, playing darts, and was an excellent pool player. He loved spending time with his family and serving his community through Amvets.

A celebration of Gary's life will be scheduled for a future date.
