Gary Dane Mead

Gary Dane Mead, age 85 of Baker City, Oregon passed away on January 22, 2026. Gary was born on March 14, 1940, in Choctaw, Oklahoma to parents James Alfanso and Iris V. (Key) Mead. After graduating from high school, Gary proudly served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division until his Honorable Discharge. He married Irene Marie Stacey on April 14, 1986, in Durant and they were united as one for 40 years. Gary drove a truck over the road for many years until his retirement. He was a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation, and he enjoyed horses, fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents James and Iris Mead and sister Sheryl Allen.

Gary is survived by is wife Irene Maire Mead of the home; daughter Michelle Mead of Mead, OK; sister Alice Trevino and husband Larry of Manichaca, TX; brother Billy Mead and wife Marie of El Paso, TX and numerous extended family and friends.

The family will hold a memorial service for Gary on Sunday March 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery Pavilion in Calera, Oklahoma.
