Gary Wyatt Millsaps, 81, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on January 27, 2026 at Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC. Born December 17, 1944 in Davie County, NC, he was the son of the late Mack Blake Millsaps and Maggie Wyatt Millsaps. He was also preceded in death by brothers Jimmy and Jerry Millsaps and sister Pamela Everhardt. Gary was a skilled mechanic who retired from Toyota of Gastonia, but earlier spent many years working in NASCAR, including with crews for Davey Allison and Kenny Wallace. He also owned a white '69 Chevy Camaro with which he competed in many sanctioned drag-racing series. Gary was a longtime member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church, where he was instrumental in recent renovations to the sanctuary and education building. Known as "Dude" to his family and friends, Gary is best remembered as a loving husband and father and a devoted friend. He was a humble man who did many remarkable things over the course of a life well-lived.

Children: Paige McAlister (Duffy) of Kings Mountain, Corey Hallman of Kings Mountain, Cindy O'Brien (Ben) of Grover, NC, and Norma Blain (Kevin) of Nashville, TN

Siblings: Marjorie Cartner of Statesville, NC, Sandra Keller of Mocksville, NC, and Anne Livengood (Ken) of Statesville, NC

Grandchildren: John McAlister (Emily) of Stanley, NC and Taylor McAlister of Kings Mountain

Gary is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews and by his cherished canine companion, Sir Winston.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Patterson Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Bridges officiating

VISITATION: Tuesday, February 3, 2026, prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:50 A.M. at Patterson Grove Baptist Church

INTERMENT: Patterson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
