Gary Marvin Nace

GARY MARVIN NACE Gary Marvin Nace, 81, of Augusta, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on March 5th, 2025. Surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born on May 5th, 1943, to B.M. and Elnor (Baker) Nace, in El Dorado, Kansas. He graduated from Towanda High School with the class of '61 and then went on to take some college courses at Kansas State University. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force Reserves serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. Gary married the love of his life, Cheryl Day, on August 9th, 1970, in Towanda, Kansas. They shared a beautiful life and had two wonderful sons, Kyle and Darrin. Gary worked at Textron Aviation as a pattern maker. When he wasn't busy working, he loved to spend time outdoors fishing and hunting quail, pheasant, deer, and turkey. Most of all, he loved his grandkids and attending their many activities, whether it be baseball and basketball games, livestock shows, or a trapshooting competition. Gary loved being a cheerleader for all of his grandchildren's activities. Gary will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Nace, of Augusta, Kansas; his children, Kyle (Cheri) Nace, of Farmington, Arkansas, and Darrin (Rebekah) Nace, of Augusta, Kansas; his grandchildren, Dallas Lane, Justin Nace, Mikah (Asher) Cole, Tucker Nace, Cooper Nace, and Madison Nace; his sister, Candy (Rex) Corbin of Benton, Kansas; his sister-in-law, Celia (Mark) Ralston; his brother-in-law, Ray Day; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in passing by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Raymond and Luma Dean Day, and his canine companion Dolly. A celebration of life with military honors will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, at NewSpring Church, North Auditorium in Wichita, Kansas. Memorial donations in Gary's name may be directed towards NewSpring Church Project Generosity and Compassion Within Hospice.
