Gary Dean Nash, 83, of Memphis, NY passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at Crouse Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gary was born on September 17, 1942, and grew up in Clay, NY, the son of the late Douglas and Dorothy Nash. Gary attended North Syracuse School District. After school, Gary had a long career starting with Western Electric in 1964, AT&T and Alcatel- Lucent.

Gary was dedicated to his career as a telecommunications technician. He was a constant presence at his children and grandchildren sporting events and activities. Gary was known for his love of Nascar racing, hunting, softball, golf, morning coffee club and walleye fishing on Oneida Lake.

Gary is survived by his son Rodney Nash (Paula) and daughter Cheryl Grant (Mark). Gary is predeceased by his brother Douglas Nash, sister Linda Walters (Frank). Gary is also survived by his brother Walter Nash (Donna-deceased) and Roy Nash (Jean), grandchildren, cherished great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, his partner Ellie Capella and extended family.

Calling hours for Gary D. Nash will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4:00-7:00p.m. at Traub Funeral Home in Central Square, NY. A service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Traub Funeral Home, burial to follow at Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay, NY. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
