Gary Raymond Nation, 75, of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at a local hospital. Gary was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served two tours in Vietnam. He retired as a Long-Haul Truck Driver and most recently drove a truck for JAT Oil delivering Gasoline. In his younger years, Gary enjoyed fishing, wood working, riding motorcycles, and traveling with his wife. He could be found most days watching a Sci-Fi movie, a Western, M.A.S.H., or War Movie on Television. Gary loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Nation; father, Grady Nation; mother, Margie Nation; brother, Lamar Nation; and sister, Genell Nation.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Nation; daughter, Amanda (Ryan) Goldberg; step-son, Scott (Donna) Lockwood; three brothers, Jerry, Michael, and David Nation; five grandchildren, Josh, Brianna, Hayli, Skylar, and Lawson; three great grandchildren, A.J., Kohen, and Keegan; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, September 26th at 12:30p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Marine Corps.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville, GA.
