Gary Patterson Obituary
Gary Patterson, a longtime resident of Hendersonville, went to join that “great cloud of witnesses”on April 18, 2024 at age 85. Gary was born on May 17, 1938 in Anderson, SC to the late William Payton Patterson and the late Dorothy Davis Patterson.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Linda Blackstone Patterson; children, Paula Jo Ryan and Gary Clayton Patterson; grandchildren, Jennifer Ryan Garland (Phillip), Megan Nicole Ryan (Zach Helton), and Christopher Grant Ryan; great-grandchildren, Cash, Lyric, Crew, and Liam; and brother, Wendell Patterson (Elsie). In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Lois Roberts and William “Pat” Patterson.
In addition to his wife and family, Gary greatly appreciated his friends and extended family, both past and present, whose love and Christian witness provided so much joy, comfort, hope, and peace.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. from First Baptist Church Hendersonville with Pastor Bruce Chesser officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
