Gary Lee Polston,69, of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away on Wed. July 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 25, 1955 in Washington, MO to Glenn and Mary Ann ( Bolm) Polston. Gary attended the local schools with his siblings and graduated from Warrenton High School. He and Bonnie (Talley) met and were later married on February 25, 1978 in O'Fallon, MO. To this union were born three children, Woodrow, Gary Matthew and Mary Ann. Gary was employed as a meat cutter for over 25 years at IGA in Warrenton, MO. During his time there, he made friends with many of his customers and was even the preferred stop for local celebrities on their way to Innsbrook for the weekend. He was known as "The Gentle Giant" to his friends and family. A tall, large man who was soft-spoken and kind. His sense of humor was appreciated by all and he was loved by everybody, especially his loving wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Polston of Montgomery City; children; Woodrow and wife Kasi Polston of Louisiana, Gary Matthew and wife Becky Polston of Wright City, Mary Ann Polston of Wright City; grandchildren; Julia, Alec, Jim, Ashley, Beth, Lilly, Naomi and Jax; brother, David and wife Susie Polston; sister, Diane Buxton and honorary brother; Paul Flake and many other relatives and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his twin brothers, James Franklin and Wayne L. Polston, his parents, his granddaughter, Angela Polston and daughter-in-law, Miryah Polston.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Louisiana, 608 S. Carolina St., Louisiana, MO.
Funeral – will also be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Louisiana, 608 S. Carolina St. Louisiana, MO Officiating will be Rev. Woodrow Polston.
Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Frankford, MO.
