Gary James Ranck

On Saturday, July 30, 2022, Gary James Ranck of Severn, MD, loving son, husband and father of two children passed away at age 75. Gary was born on January 13, 1947 in Lancaster, PA to J. Fred and Marian Ranck. He was preceded in death by his parents and a cousin, James Rice.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Pamela J. Ranck of Severn, MD; two children: daughter Lori Ranck of Glen Burnie, MD and partner Vickie Ethridge of Ellicott City, MD and son Bryan Ranck and his wife Christina of Pasadena, MD; stepson Christopher Welsh of Port Charlotte, FL and stepdaughter Jennifer and husband Maurice Lapointe of West Friendship, MD; four grandchildren Isabella, Hannah, Lauren and Andrew; and great-grandson Phoenix; cousin Eileen Bauer; former wife Vivian Rizzo-Fruits and many, many loving friends.
Gary entered the Navy right after graduation from McCaskey High School in Lancaster, PA. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam war from 1964 to 1968. After completing his military service, he was employed by US Airways for 38 years. Not long after retirement, Gary was employed by a dialysis company, Spectra of Glen Burnie, MD as a courier/lead until his illness began in March.
Anyone who ever met Gary knew he was an avid Orioles' fan from his youth to his last day.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA., 1 Second Avenue, SW (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 for a "Time of Friendship and Remembrance" from 2:00 to 4:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 pm. An Inurnment will be held at a later date privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN and the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
