Gary Ray Roberts of Stinnett, Kentucky was born on April 12, 1965, in Hyden, Kentucky to the union of the late Earl and Rowena Baker Roberts.
By occupation, Gary was a retired coal miner. He was known for his strong work ethic and deep commitment to his career. However, his title and role of husband, father, and grandfather was what truly defined him. He was united in marriage to Deborah Napier Roberts on April 2, 1988 in London, KY.
Gary took great pride in spending time with his family and grandchildren, cherishing every moment they shared. He was passionate about gardening and landscaping, and he found joy in maintaining his home and property, always ensuring it was clean and well-groomed. His meticulous nature extended to his truck, which he cared for with great pride. Gary also enjoyed going to the lake, ATV riding, and making memories with his loved ones.
Gary departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at his home in Stinnett, KY surrounded by his family. Gary was 59 years old.
He is survived by his loving & devoted wife Deborah Napier Roberts of Stinnett, KY; son, Chase Pennington (Lela) of Stinnett, KY; three daughters, Kathy Sizemore (Chad) of Hyden, KY, Nickie Pennington of Stinnett, KY, and Carie Jones of Jacksonville, FL; three brothers, Donnie Roberts (Linda) of Stinnett, KY, Earl "Bubby" Roberts (Linda) of Stinnett, KY, and Scott Roberts (Brandi) of Stinnett, KY; and one sister, Phyliss Morgan (Jerry) of Somerset, KY. He is also survived by his eight cherished grandchildren, one cherished great-grandchild, and one special grandson, Skyler Sizemore. A host of other family and friends also survive his passing.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one sister, Jenny Turner.
Funeral services to commemorate Gary's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6th, 2025 in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Geoffery Roberts officiating.
Interment will follow the services at the Roberts Garden View Cemetery at Stinnett, KY with Chase Pennington, Steve Morgan, Andy Disney, Mark Couch, Gary Nantz, Donnie Roberts, Jody Roberts, Chad Sizemore, Earl "Bubby" Roberts, Scott Roberts, and Donavin Sizemore serving as pallbearers.
Friends and family may gather for visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
