Eugene "Dudley" Hacker, born on December 12, 1955, in Hyden, Kentucky, the son of the late Carl Hacker & Carolyn Hoskins Hacker passed away on January 23, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Eugene "Dudley" was 70 years old. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, remembered for his strong character, humility, and unwavering devotion to family.

Dudley had a distinguished career in the coal mining industry, where he dedicated 40 years of his life as a strip miner and heavy equipment operator. His remarkable work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, and he was held in high regard by all who worked alongside him. A proud graduate of Leslie County High School, class of 1973, he began his career in the mines immediately after graduation, a testament to his commitment and drive.

Family was the cornerstone of Dudley’s life. He is survived by his loving & devoted  wife, Jetty Caudill Hacker to whom he was united in marriage to of December 31, 1976,  and his beloved children, Audrey Amber Whitehead and Paul Michael, and Jennifer Carol Whitaker, along with her husband, Everett Earl. treasured grandchildren, Taylor Allison Whitehead & Austin, Kenna Alexis Asher & Tyler Johnson, treasured great - grandchildren, Aubree Blake Whitehead & Jaxon Phoenix Whitehead. He cherished his relationships with his mother-in-law, Audrey Caudill, and siblings: Henry Hacker and Janice,  as well as his sisters, Sharon Hornbeck & Eugene, Donna Roberts and Timmy. His love and genuine concern for his family were evident in all aspects of his life.

Dudley was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his passions outside of work. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and immersing himself in the beauty of the outdoors. He took joy in being actively involved in the lives of his family, creating countless memories that would be cherished by those who knew him.

A devoted member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God, Dudley’s faith was a guiding influence in his life. He was deeply respected within his community for both his spiritual convictions and his commitment to helping others.

He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Hacker; mother, Carolyn Hoskins Hacker; great-grandson, Greyson Cole Whitehead; and father-in-law, Dale Caudill. His departure leaves a profound impact on those who loved him, and he will be remembered for his familial devotion and the strength he brought to his loved ones.

Funeral services for Eugene "Dudley" Hacker will be held on Friday - January 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Stinnett Gap Church of God, located at 16031 US-421, Stinnett, KY 40868 with Rev. Geoffery Hacker & Rev. Silas Hoskins (Dudley's uncle) officiating.  Friends may call for visitation from 11:00 a.m. - until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m.  The interment will follow in the Hacker Family Cemetery at Stinnett, Ky.  Nephews will serve as pallbearers. 

Dudley’s legacy of hard work, love for his family, and his humble spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
