Gary "Teddy" Robertson 81 of Columbus, Indiana entered eternal life peacefully on Friday September 19th at 8:23 am with family by his side. Gary was born on December 22nd, 1943, to the late Donald (Bud) and Dorothy Robertson of Hope, Indiana. Gary was a 1961 graduate of Hauser High School where he ran track/cross country, played baseball and basketball. One of Gary's fondest memories as a former Jet was seeing the Boys Basketball Team win the 2006 Class A State Championship. Gary briefly attended Indiana State University to study aviation before returning home to work at Cummins Engine Company and marry the love of his life Joyce Bozell, they have shared 61 years of marriage. Gary decided to start a career as a Lineman for Public Service of Indiana (Duke Energy) where he retired in 2008 after 41 years as a Class A Lineman on the High Line Construction Crew. Gary was very passionate about his career providing electrical power to customers across Indiana and on emergency trips to Florida and the Carolinas to restore power. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 1393. Gary loved attending sporting events, Cincinnati Reds, NASCAR races in Darlington, Charlotte, Talladega, Daytona and all the local tracks here in Indiana. Gary loved attending High School Basketball games to see Hauser Play, and later in life the Franklin High School Boys Basketball Team. Most of all Gary loved attending his sons, and grandkids sporting events, choir concerts, band concerts and looked forward to grandparents' day at their respective schools. Some of Gary's most memorable moments were coaching boys' basketball at Smith Elementary School in the early 80's, Columbus Foundation for Youth Boys Basketball, and soccer for the Columbus Youth Organization. Gary obtained his Indiana Soccer Referee license where he had officiated numerous high school and college games. Fishing the Boundary Waters once a year was always one of his favorites, along with White Water Rafting, camping, hiking, golfing, and a competitive round of Putt-Putt. You could always find Gary at Lincoln Park playing softball for Columbus Warehouse, at Rural King, or Brown County State Park enjoying nature. Gary is survived by his wife Joyce, (3) boys; Brad (Kellie) Robertson of Greenwood, Indiana, Randy (Diana) Robertson of Indianapolis, and Cory (Jen) Robertson of Indianapolis. Seven (7) Grandchildren Riley Robertson of Indianapolis, Casey Robertson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Allyson (Jeff Gardner) of Greenwood, Josh (Kirtana) Robertson of Durham North Carolina, Cooper, Cailyn, and Cheney Robertson of Indianapolis.
