Gary Wayne Rollans, age 74, of Dardanelle, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at his home.
Born on June 4, 1949, in Russellville, Arkansas, to the late JB Rollans and Janet Pfeifer Rollans, Gary's life was characterized by a profound commitment to his family, community, and a passion for his work.
A proud graduate of Dardanelle High School in 1967, Gary continued his education at Arkansas Tech University as an undergraduate before earning his pharmacy degree from Northeast Louisiana Pharmacy School in Monroe, LA in 1972. Gary dedicated himself to being a pharmacist for almost 50 years. He truly enjoyed helping others and knowing that he impacted their lives.
Gary loved his community and believed it was his responsibility to be active thus serving in many community organizations in his lifetime. He served on the Dardanelle School Board, Yell County Mounted Patrol, Dardanelle Jaycees, a member of Bright Star Masonic Lodge, and the Dardanelle Bass Club. Gary loved the game of football and after he no longer played, he turned to coaching peewee football for many years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly loved hunting and fishing. He loved being at deer camp and in later years his cabin in the woods.
His zest for life was contagious and he approached each day with enthusiasm and a warm smile that touched the hearts of those around him. He was extremely loyal and his love for his family – especially his grandchildren – was immeasurable.
Survived by his wife of 55 years, Christi Jaggers Rollans, his high school sweetheart. Their two children, Jennifer Samuels (Marty) and Jeremy Rollans (Myra), five grandchildren, Ben Wilkins, Linsey Futrell (Matt), Lainey Samuels, Ryan Rollans, Kate Rollans, and four great-grandchildren, Mia, Louie, Jhenesis, and Elsie and his precious dachshund Maggie Mae. His sister Rhonda Prater (Doug), as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date, providing friends and family an opportunity to come together and share the cherished memories they hold of him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dardanelle Sand Lizard Foundation, PO Box 454, Dardanelle, AR 72834 or the Russellville First United Methodist Church Manna House, 304 S. Commerce Avenue, Russellville, AR 72801.

I loved working with Gary. He never seemed to have a bad day and had a gusto for living. I never got to know Gary outside of work, but I wish I had. God Bless Gary and Family. I know he will rest in peace.
