Williamsburg- Gary Lewis Ruegsegger was born October 28, 1950, in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of Ivan Duane and Marie Jean (Meyer) Ruegsegger. He attended Pilot Grove Country School, West of Williamsburg. He worked with REA in Conroy for many years. Gary attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg and participated in the Special Olympics. He enjoyed tractors, reading, writing in a daily journal and anything pink. Gary died on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Compass Memorial Healthcare in Marengo, at the age of 75 years.
He is survived by his siblings SA Ricci Utley of Cedar Rapids, Ivan Ruegsegger of Atkins, Bryan Ruegsegger of North English, Brent Ruegsegger of Iowa City, and Karla (James) Bryant of Amana; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and a brother Alan Caise.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will follow at the Champion Hill Cemetery, near North English. Visitation will be on Friday, from 10:00 am until service time. Memorials may be given to the Williamsburg Library. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
