Gary's Obituary Obituary

Gary Mills, 74, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away on August 20, 2025, in Wichita, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 25, 1950, to Carl and Rose Mills.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; son, Christopher; daughter, Amy; parents, Carl and Rose; and siblings, Carl, David, Steve, and Linda.
He is survived by his children, Jeromy Mills, Christina Miller, and Angela Mills; grandchildren Samantha, Alyssa, Hailey, Katelyn, Adric, Adriana, Brooklyn, Michael, Kaleb, Kaden, Kaiden, Makayla, Aria, Ava, and Christopher; and great-grandchildren Cameron, Regan, Easton, and Kalaya.
At just 18, Gary joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he began a 35-year career at Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems, where he worked until retirement.
In 1984 Gary married the love of his life, Theresa, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and family. That love only grew when Gary became a grandfather. He took an active role in raising and guiding his grandkids, becoming more than a grandfather-he was a father figure, a mentor, and the one they could always count on. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy, and he poured his heart into making sure they had everything they needed.
Gary was quick with a joke and even quicker with some good-natured trash talk. Whether with family, friends, or the cashier at QuikTrip, he could make you laugh, roll your eyes, or fire back with your own comeback-and he loved every minute of it. If Gary teased you, you knew you had a special place in his heart.
He enjoyed his daily Pepsi, crossword tickets, and Pick 3s, and above all, he bled red and yellow as a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. Gary never missed a chance to cheer them on-through the highs and the heartbreaks, he stayed loyal to his team. Sundays in the fall were reserved for football, and he especially loved celebrating the Chiefs' recent Super Bowl victories with his family, sharing in the excitement across generations.
When he wasn't talking football, Gary loved fishing trips and evenings with Theresa, playfully bickering while watching their favorite western, Walker, Texas Ranger. After Theresa's passing, Gary secretly missed those nights-especially her yelling at him during the show, a reminder of their love and their laughter together.
Gary's legacy lives on in the grandchildren and great-grandchildren he helped raise, the laughter he sparked everywhere he went, and the deep love he carried for his family-and for his Chiefs. He will be remembered with smiles, stories, and a lot of love.
