Gary Wayne Sandifer, born October 23, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on March 9, 2026.
Gary celebrated 59 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Donna, on February 16, 2026. He spent much of his life as a hardworking businessman, running Ace Custom Cabinets for 32 years before proudly passing the business down to his son. Even in retirement, Gary never truly stopped working, always finding something to stay busy with and someone to help.
Gary had a deep love for music and was incredibly talented with his guitar. He could play pieces that seemed physically impossible, leaving family and friends amazed at his skill. Beyond his talents, Gary's greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved spending time with the children and making them laugh.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Bell Sandifer; his father, Izic F. Sandifer; and his brother, Joe Sandifer.
Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Donna L. Sandifer; his daughters, Teresa (Travis) Houston and Sherry (Keith) Cloud; his son, Gary (Melea) Sandifer, Jr.; his brother, Richard (Sue) Sandifer; and his sister, Diane Brann. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.
Funeral services for Gary will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mel Campbell.
Gary lived a life full of hard work, faith, music, and love for his family. While he will be deeply missed here on earth, we take comfort in knowing he is now resting in the peace of heaven and in the presence of the Lord.
