Gary Saunders

Gary Allen Saunders, 85, formerly of Huntsville, MO, died December 3, 2025 in Raytown, MO. Gary was born on January 12, 1940 one of 21 siblings, the son of Harry and Anna (Jordan) Saunders. He married Carolyn Irene Smith on July 17, 1963 in Huntsville, MO and she preceded him in death on February 21, 2024.
Gary was a graduate of Westran High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He later obtained a degree in engineering. He worked as supervisor for Ameren.
Gary is survived by his daughter Marcella (Leon) Tucker of Raytown, MO, grandchildren Thomas (Anna) Robinson of Raytown, MO, Leslie Ann Robinson of Florida, Robert Sanders of Hannibal, MO, Gary Saunders III of Columbia, MO, Daphne Saunders of Columbia, MO, two great grandchildren Senaa and Thyce Robinson of Katy, TX, siblings Carolyn Curren, Darrell Saunders, Marjorie Saunders, Ritha Holly, Lorna Alexander, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carolyn, son Gary Saunders II, siblings Billy Jean Fristo, Eugene Saunders, Dixie Lee Raspberry, Paul Saunders, Phil Saunders, James Saunders, Larry Saunders, Terry Saunders, Harry Saunders, Judith Murry, Wanda Saunders, Russell Saunders, Ronald Saunders, Brenda Saunders, and Calvin Saunders.
Visitation is Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 10 until 12:00 p.m. at the Patton Funeral Home with services following at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Huntsville City Cemetery.
