Gary was born on January 28, 1934 and passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Gary was a resident of Utah at the time of passing. Gary attended the University of Utah where he was a Sigma-Chi and earned the nickname "Foggy" Sheets for his propensity to not pay attention to certain important details. Gary is survived by his wife Diane Sheets, daughters Heidi Jones (Roger), Katie Robertson (Joe), Gretchen McNees, and Lisa Jackson; sons Jim Sheets (Andrea) and Darin Jackson, 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Wednesday September 26th at the Green Valley 1st Ward in St. George, Utah (511 S. Valley View Dr). A viewing will be held at the church from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Burial services will be in the Richfield Cemetery. Visitation at the Green Valley LDS Chapel from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM on September 26, 2018. In lieu of flowers, Gary requested that donations be made to the Switchpoint Community Resource Center for the homeless (948 N. 1300 W. St. George, UT 84770).

Gary was a great guy. I knew him in the business world as well as at the university of Ut. He was a great competitor in all areas of life. He was a good friend. He was a good swimmer and very fast. We swam together and won many events. He will be missed. He was an honest and a good man. My love to his family even though I have not met them.
