Gary Dean Shoemake, a beloved son, father, brother, and grandfather, who departed this life on November 14, 2025, in Oxford, MS. He was 64 years old. Born on March 30, 1961, Gary left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Gary spent a career at Weyerhaeuser, from which he retired. He was a passionate outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting and fishing, passions that connected him with nature and created lasting memories. His love for sports was evident, particularly his fervent support for Ole Miss football and the Pittsburgh Steelers—teams he followed with unwavering loyalty.
As a devoted father, Gary reveled in the joy of watching his sons compete in dirt bike racing, always cheering them on with the enthusiasm that only a proud parent could muster. In recent years, his heart overflowed with love for his grandchildren, Magdalyn and Rivi, who brought him immeasurable joy and laughter.
Gary is survived by his mother, Dorris Shoemake of Bruce, MS; his sons, Wade Shoemake, Sawyer Shoemake both of Banner, and Keafin (Jill) Shoemake of Huntsville, AL; his brother, Danny Lee Shoemake of Bruce, MS; his fiance', Debbie Lunceford, of Bruce, MS; his sister, Cathy (Steve) Poindexter of Bruce, MS; and his cherished grandchildren, Magdalyn and Rivi Shoemake. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on November 17, 2025, with a public viewing starting at noon, leading into the service at 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Kevin Smith and Bro. Joe Owens. Gary will be laid to rest following the ceremony at Haven Hill Cemetery. Mike Byars, Jake Dunn, Wayne Edwards, Jimmy Hubbard, Quincy Parker, and Taylor Shoemake will be serving as pallbearers.
In Leiu of flowers the family has requested donations be made towards funeral expenses.
