Gary Lee Slagle, age78, of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Wilmington on November 5, 1947, he was the son of Raymond and Laura Thompson Slagle.

He is survived by the love of his life, Jennifer Smalley Slagle, whom he married in 1987.

After high school, Gary joined the Air Force and went on to retire from Kroger after 30 years.  He and Jenny were the owners of J & G's TLC. Gary was a member of the Wilmington American Legion Post 49. Gary enjoyed taking meticulous care of his lawn, and he also loved old cars and took great pride in his vehicles. A good and faithful servant, he was a member of the Wilmington Bible Baptist Church.

Gary is survived by his son Jason Adam; daughter Megan; sister Connie Benner; brother-in-law Ronald (Norma) Smalley; sisters-in-law Mindy Baird and Suzanne (Dan) Novak; nieces Traci Rucker, Melissa Chestnut, and Briana Baird. 

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Brannon, and brothers-in-law David Benner and Darrell Baird.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and/or Alzheimer's Association.

Visitation will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina from 11:00 AM until the time-of-service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the New Antioch Cemetery.
