Gary Lyndon Smith, 85, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023. Born March 11, 1938 in Knoxville, TN, Gary received a Bachelors Degree from UCLA and worked for AT&T as a service manager for 26 years. Active in Freemasonry, he was a member of the Duluth Lodge #480, Mt. Zion Lodge #316 and Chestatee Lodge #102 of Georgia and Mt. Dora Lodge #238 in Mt. Dora, FL. He was also a member of Yaarab Shrine, Scottish and York Rite bodies.
Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresia Smith; daughters, Chelsie Rudz of Athens, Wyndee Johnson of Johns Creek; sons Russell Ayers of Clarksville, Tennessee and Gary, Jr. of Atlanta; sister, Janice Davis of Knoxville; and his pride and joy, 11 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 25, at 4:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Masonic Rites service will be held Thursday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Chestatee Lodge #102 F&AM, 6080 GA Hwy. 53; Dawsonville, GA 30534.
