Mildred Jo Samples Martin, age 85, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Born April 22, 1940, in Cherokee County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Della Nix Samples.
She graduated from Forsyth County High School and was a long-time employee of Entertainment Mart, a company she co-owned with her husband, Ralph Martin. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mildred was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a faithful friend whose kindness and steady presence helped shape the lives of all who knew her.
Mildred carried with her a deep love for family, community, and faith throughout her life. She was known for her generous heart, warm hospitality, and unwavering support for those she loved. Her home was always open and her table always welcoming. The greatest joy in Mildred’s heart was in caring for her family, helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved celebrating holidays together and creating traditions that will continue for generations to come. She treasured every minute spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering encouragement when needed, giving advice when sought, and always giving unconditional love.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Della Samples, and by her sister, Ruth Dacus.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Ralph Martin; children Tommy Martin (Diana) and Rebecca Rusk (John-David), all of Cumming; grandchildren Ashlee Jaacks (Kyle), Matthew Salloum (Oksana), T. J. Martin, Austin Martin, and Ashley Audette; great-grandchildren Branson Willingham (Brittany), Lucian Tinsley, Xander Martin, William Willingham, Kira Salloum, Sophie Jaacks, Gavin Rucker, Aiden Rider, Kady Salloum, Fletcher Jaacks, Piper Salloum, and Andon Jaacks. Also surviving are Mildred’s sisters Betty Lewis and Trudy Fuller as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 6, at Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Scott Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 5, and from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Friday, March 6 at the funeral home.
