Gary Wade Tatro

Gary W. Tatro, 70, of Irving Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday June 16, 2025. He was born on June 5, 1955 in Dallas Texas, to Henri D. Tatro and Cecile Tatro.
Gary was the proud owner and operator of Sure Products, Inc., an automotive engine tooling and equipment fabrication shop in Irving, Tx, which he ran for 36 years. In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Gary was a dedicated community volunteer. He served in the ICOP (Citizens On Patrol) program for ten years.
A student and teacher of martial arts, Gary held a black belt in Wing Chun and was experienced in Filipino Martial Arts. He was a student and later a teacher, where he shared his passion with students over the years.
He loved history and would constantly try to bend your ear to discuss any history topic. He was an avid researcher on the JFK Assassination, and collected numerous original documents and books on the subject. He was a lifetime member of the Irving Elks Lodge. Much of his spare time was spent camping, and fishing where he was able relax and enjoy nature.
Gary was a lover of animals. He and his wife Gail, would take daily walks around the neighborhood park, Towne Lake Park, enjoying the wildlife, petting the numerous dogs and getting to know his neighbors, and in the process created lasting friendships. His love of animals also included his own beloved pets, which were constantly by his side. He had a deep love for God, and his faith in God never wavered, throughout his long illness. Later in his illness he rededicated himself to Christianity and Jesus as his Savior. He fought valiantly to overcome his illness until his body could no longer fight anymore and God took him home.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Gail Tatro; his daughter Amanda Tatro, and his granddaughters Tabitha Hern and Sofia Wilson; and sisters, Misty Ferris and spouse Mike Ferris, and Laura Litle and spouse Harrelson Litle, and preceded in death by sister, Amber Tatro.
A memorial service will be held at 1 :00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Northgate United Methodist Church in Irving.
