Gary Dean Taylor, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Gary's life was marked by his love for the great outdoors, his faith, his dedication to his work, his family, and the joy he found in simple pleasures.

A proud steamship pilot for New Orleans Baton Rouge Steamship Pilot Association, Gary spent many years navigating the waterways, demonstrating skill, courage, and a deep respect for the river. His colleagues remembered him as a reliable and kind-hearted professional who always prioritized safety and camaraderie.

Beyond his career, Gary's passions were his true calling. An avid deer hunter and fisherman, he cherished early mornings in the woods and on the water, embracing nature's beauty and tranquility. His family recalls countless stories of his outdoor adventures, his patience, and the peacefulness that radiated from him as he pursued his hobbies.

He is preceded in death by; his parents, Lurlene Taylor and Lewis Hershel Taylor.

Gary Dean Taylor will be dearly missed and is survived by; his wife, Kristi Taylor; his children, Jason Taylor, Jessica Rouquette, and Sara LeSage; his extended children, Julia Tassin and Kirstin Tassin; his grandchildren, Tyler Taylor, Abby Rouquette, Reese Rouquette, Maya Hennegan and Jaxon Hennegan; his sister, Sherry Diane Hebert; And all who knew him. His legacy of love for life, the outdoors, and his family will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Gary Taylor's funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, at 2 P.M., at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, from 3 P.M. to 9 P.M., at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey, Louisiana. A visitation will also be held prior to the service on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M., at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects and share stories of a man who loved life and left a lasting impression on everyone.
