Gary Leo Thelen

Beloved father and grandfather.​Age 76, of Circle Pines, MN. Passed away on January 18, 2022.​Gary was born April 4, 1945 to Fred and Mathilda (Boes) Thelen. He grew up on the family’s farm near Breda, IA and graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in 1963. After high school, he joined the Air Force for 4 years. He eventually moved to MN where he met and married Linda (Scepurek) Thelen on August 10, 1974.​Gary worked in the computer industry for many years. One of his hobbies was fishing, where he spent time up at Cass Lake, MN each year. He also enjoyed going to the casinos.​Gary is preceded in death by parents, Fred and Mathilda Thelen; and sister, Mary.​He is survived by his wife, Linda Thelen; son, Steve Thelen; grandchildren, Haley Thelen and Kendelle Thelen; siblings, Howie (Charlene), Ron (Mary), Dale (Vernell), Mark, Jean, Diane (Jerry), and Debbie; and other relatives and friends.​Funeral service 11 AM Friday, January 28 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-LINO LAKES, 7050 Lake Dr. (County Hwy 23). Visitation from 10-11 AM Friday. Interment at Incarnation Cemetery.​In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.
