Gary Edward Tisor age 85 passed away on October 2, 2024, in Sandy, Utah. He was born on February 3, 1939, in Garner, Iowa to Henry John Tisor and Laura Josephine Hernon. He married Judith Ann Wilson on April 29th, 1967, and was sealed in the Oakland, California temple on May 30th, 1968.
He served 20 years in the Navy aboard many aircraft carriers. After 20 years in the Navy Dad made another career driving trucks for Geneva Rock, Mining Services International, and Ryder Trucking where he retired from. He served as a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple. Served an LDS Mission with Judi in Rapid City, South Dakota as office couple. He served as an usher at the church conference center for 4 years. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, snow skiing, woodworking, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Judi Tisor. Brothers: Jack & Texie Tisor and Dave and Marge Tisor. Sons: Scott and Susan Tisor, Ken Tisor, Allison Player, and Eric Tisor. Grandchildren: Brittany and Mike Grange, Nick and Sydney Tisor, Kory, Kate Tisor and Jordan Tisor. Great grandchildren: Gavin Grange, Addi Tisor, Lola Tisor, Eleigha Tisor, Nixon Tisor, and Bentley Tisor.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry John Tisor and Laura Josephine Hernon and brother Rick Tisor.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 16th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A viewing before the services on Thursday, October 17th at 9:30 AM with the funeral services following the morning viewing at the LDS Chapel. 586 East 8400 South Sandy, Utah.
The interment will be at Camp Williams Cemetery at 17111 South 1700 West Bluffdale Utah.
