Gary Lee Toler, age 68, of Piney Flats, Tennessee, passed away from natural causes on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Gary was born on May 23, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Luther and Notie Velva Hatfield Toler. He graduated from Maynard Evans High School in Orlando, Florida, in 1976. He later became a very proud graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Gary spent many years living in Seattle, Washington, where he worked for The Boeing Company, before eventually returning to East Tennessee. He had a deep love for computers and technology, enjoying website work, programming, and photo editing. Gary was a member of the Church of God.
He is survived by his sister, Diana S. Toler of Piney Flats; his beloved first cousin, Debbie Alexander of Maryville, Tennessee; and his cherished Schnauzer, Shadow.
The family extends a very special thank you to Dr. James Hansen of Johnson City Internal Medicine for his exceptional care, as well as to Gary’s neighbor for their kindness, care, and support.
There will be no public services. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.morrisbaker.com.
