Gary Lee Vaughn

1951 - 2025

Gary L. Vaughn, age 73, of Rome passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gary was born on June 16th, 1951, in Rome, to the late Leon G. and Luella (Starks) Vaughn. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and then transferred to the Army Reserves. On June 18, 1994, he was united in marriage to the former Christine Snyder. He worked in logistics Fort Drum following his honorable discharge. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Christine; his daughters, Kilee Vaughn, Stacy (Christopher Britton) Finster, and Jessica (Thomas) Henry; his sons, Kaiden Vaughn, and Jeremy (Stacey) Finster; his sisters, Karen (Herman) Streiff, and Grace (Victor) Carr; his brothers, Marshall Vaughn, Bruce (Leona) Vaughn, Dewayne (Wendy) Vaughn, and Mark (Cathy) Vaughn; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Gary Vaughn Jr.; and several siblings.

The family would like to thank Christopher Britton and Hospice for their care and compassion shown to Gary during his illness.

Gary's funeral will be held on Tuesday at 6 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 PM prior to the funeral.
