Gary Vodehnal, 80, servant of the Lord, left this life to meet his maker on January 15, 2026 in Searcy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E.H. and Izola Vodehnal, and grandson, Spencer Price Roberson. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Shauna, daughter Desi (Mark) Harmon of New Port Richey, FL, daughter Julie (Ron) McLaughlin of Searcy, son Tyler (Christy) Vodehnal of Prairie Grove, AR, Jason (Laura) Roberson of Romance, Chris (Jennifer) Roberson of Searcy, Kellie (Dustin) Werner of Kansas City, MO, sister Phyllis (Jospeh) Stertz of Madison, WI, nephew Chuck Stertz, and niece Heather Stertz. He also leaves behind 14 beloved grandchildren.

Gary was born in York, Nebraska on July 27, 1945. He served in the army during the Vietnam Era and was in reserve status for many years as a medical pharmacist. Later he attended Colorado University in Boulder. He worked as a pharmacist from 1972 to 2016 beginning his career in Brush, CO, and later serving many years at Lowery Drug Store in Searcy and retiring from White County Medical Center.

Gary was known for his whimsical sense of humor and his loving nature toward his family, especially his many grandchildren.

He loved cooking, gardening, puzzles, and he especially loved the Razorbacks and was a Colorado Buffaloes fan. Family and church were most important to him. He was an active participant at College Church of Christ. Those who knew Gary were blessed to know him, and he will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, January 22, at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy 6-8pm. The funeral will take place Friday morning, January 23,10am, at College Church of Christ in Searcy. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery following the funeral.
