Christopher Scott King, age 47, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A memorial service will be held on February 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox, Dumas, Texas. The family welcomes all who wish to attend and celebrate Chris’s life.

Chris was born on January 30, 1977, in Amarillo, Texas to Danney and Deborah (Brummett) King. Chris spent his life in Dumas and attended Dumas elementary school until 6th grade, when the family moved to Searcy, Arkansas.

Chris started wrestling at a young age with Dumas Wrestling Club. In Scearcy Schools Chris played football, basketball and baseball. His senior year in basketball, he was instrumental in leading his team to the State Championship. He graduated from Searcy High School and attended Mississippi University in Oxford.

Chris started his career at K-Bob’s Steakhouse in Dumas busing tables for his grandparents Bill and Dixie Brummett. Later years he worked as inspector of Heavy Metal and Sales.

Chris loved being known as “Uncle” to his nephew Airman Tristyn Scott King and niece Mia Marie King. He taught the fundamentals of basketball and wrestling to Tristyn. Mia was often by her “Uncle’s” side, eager to learn about life—you could frequently find then together in the yard pulling weeds and talking.

At the time of death Chris was survived by his mother, Deborah Sue (Brummett) King; Father, Danney King; Sister, Tiffany Donnel King; Half-brothers, Michael King and Brandon King; Nephew, Airman Tristyn Scott King and Niece, Mia Marie King; Grandmother, Dixie Brummett; Aunt, Pamela (Brummett) Duffer; and other relatives and friends.
