Gary P. Walton, 79, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Merit House in Toledo. He was born October 22, 1946, in Toledo to Robert and Margaret Mary (Hurley) Walton. He graduated from Macomber High School in 1964 and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked in banking and auto finance.

Gary married Robin Maly on Valentine's Day in 1998. He was a loving husband, supportive father and dedicated grandpa, "G-pa", who enjoyed many boating adventures with the whole family, playing racquetball, bowling and playing in a men's softball league with his sons, sons-in-law and stepsons. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Riverview Yacht Club and the Exchange Club of Toledo.

He is survived by his wife, Robin; children, Kirk Evans, Dawn (Scott) Coleman, Shelley (Michael) Provenza, Heidi (Tom) Myers, Kristin (Tony) Torio, Jessica (Jason) Cole, Erik (Katie) Maly, and Keith (Mandy) Maly; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and his cousin, Duane (Kathy) Walton. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carolyn Anderson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at the Merit House for their compassion and wonderful care they provided Gary with in the last several months.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave, with VFW military honors beginning at 7:30pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Dementia Society of America.
