Joyce Drabek

Joyce M Drabek, 83, of Swanton passed away peacefully at her home on February 16th. Joyce was born March 25th to Fred and Marie Dennis and was raised on the family farm where she learned the values of hard work resilience and devotion to family that would guide her throughout her life. In 1962 Joyce married her soulmate, Tom. Together they shared 61 beautiful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, laughter and devotion to family. They had three daughters, Julie (Dave), Michelle (Tim), Susan (Scott). They had 9 grandchildren Nicholas, Emily (Tim), Katie (Ian), Zack, Dylon (Taylor), Alayna (Trace), Kylee (Mike) and Garrett. They adored their 6 great grandchildren Jackson, Tucker, Holden, Harper, Cooper and Mazie. She is survived by her brother Mike (Becky). She found her greatest joy in caring for her family, especially during their weekly feed the family night, where no one left the table hungry and with sides aching from laughter. She loved nothing more than sitting on the swing with Tom by her side, enjoying the comfort and peace of the home they had built together. Joyce worked at Columbia gas of Ohio where she dedicated many years of service and created lifelong friendships. She was the perfect combination of sweet spicy and a little bit ornery — a personality that made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her. Her warmth, strength and spirited nature will live on in the hearts of those she loved she will be deeply missed and forever remembered. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Tom, parents Fred and Marie, brothers Walt, Jim, Bob, Donald and sister Susie. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, preceded by recitation of the rosary at 9:30 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Sylvania, Ohio. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery in Swanton, Ohio.
