Gary Mark Watson, 71, passed away on December 31, 2024. He was born on July 15, 1953, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Alice M. Mikel Watson and William R. Watson. Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Alice, in January 2014 his father, William, in September 1999 and his daughter Melissa Watson.
Gary was one of five siblings, sharing his life with his brothers Billy Watson, Jim Watson, and Jack Watson, and his sister, Cathy Kuntz.
Gary was a devoted family man who married Doris L. Watson, the love of his life, on February 10, 1996. Together, they embraced a blended family and were proud parents to Melissa Watson; Jeffrey (Alicia) Watson; Ashley "Reeks" and (Jason) Boulet; William C. Polk; and Crystal (James) Bell. Gary was a proud Pawpaw to 11 grandchildren: Alex Polk, Britian (Katelynn) Polk, Lane Polk, Sarah (Cade) Johnson, Mackenzie Wilcoxson, Ryan Boulet, Noah Boulet, Allison O'Neil, Jaxon Watson, Jaden Watson, and Abigail Watson, as well as two great-grandchildren Oliver Polk and Christian Lee.
A man of boundless curiosity and talent, Gary found joy in restoring cars, flying his flight simulator, and tackling projects in the engine room. His stories, filled with humor and life lessons, were a treasure to his family, and his dedication to spending time with loved ones was unwavering. Gary's loved his cats and he delighted in their companionship and their quirky antics, finding peace and laughter in their presence.
Gary's kindness, deep faith, and sense of humor made him a beloved figure in the lives of many. He always extended a helping hand, embodying generosity and warmth in everything he did.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Gary's life will be 1 pm Friday, January 10, 2025, at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Operation Kindness in Gary's memory.
Gary's legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
