In Loving Memory
Taylorsville, UT - Gary Bert Weight, 86, of Taylorsville, Utah, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday April 28th, 2024.
He was born on October 2nd, 1937 in Provo, Utah. He was the first of five children born to Bert Howard Weight and Ethel (Fletcher) Weight.
Around age 7 their family moved to Tooele, Utah. Where his loving childhood was filled with family, church, school, fishing trips, boy scouts, sports and a little mischief here and there. He proudly graduated from Tooele High School in 1955 and continued to be actively involved with his high school reunions. He was an all-star athlete with long standing records in track and many accolades in basketball.
When Dad was 19 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While enlisted, became a helicopter Crew Chief, played basketball and ran track. Dad served his country honorably and was a proud supporter of all our Veterans.
He is survived by his wife: Sandra E. Weight. Two daughters and one son: Chriss (Mark) Whall, Michael (Amber) Weight and Jennifer (William) Hadsell. Grandsons Jon (Ellen) Whall, Devin (Natalie) Whall, AJ Berriochoa, Mason Hadsell, Jacob Hadsell, Taytum Weight, Tustyn Weight. Granddaughters: Jennelle (James) Lewis, Emery Weight, and seven great grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister, Richard (Michelle) Weight, David (Pam) Weight and Debbie Hankins. Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bert and Ethel Weight, his sister Karma Rydalch, brother in law Boyd Rydalch.
Funeral services will be May 11th at his ward house:
4505 Brians Way, West Valley, Utah.
Visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am. Funeral at 11:00am to 11:45am. Interment at Elysian Gardens.
