Portland- Gary D. White,73, of Colonial Road, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Portland, Maine on October 20, 1952, the son of Robert D. and Muriel M.(Stonier) White.

Gary attended Scarborough elementary schools and graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School, where he excelled in Basketball & Baseball.

Shortly after high school he married Catherne Gallant and they have been happily married for 51 ½ years.

Gary began his working career at Oakhurst Dairy and then was employed for 40 + years with Country Kitchen Bakery as a route salesman and manager. He was an active member of Grace Baptist Church for 43 years, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, serving as a trustee and after retirement working as a custodian at the church.

Gary loved spending time with his wife Catherine in their boat on Crescent Lake, hunting, fishing, playing golf & frequent trips to Goodwill. He earned the name MacGyver because he was always tinkering and trying to improve things.

Gary will be remembered for his storytelling, his great sense of humor and his wise cracks that made people laugh.

Funeral Services will be held 9 Am Saturday at Grace Baptist Church, 476 Summit Street

In Portland. Burial will follow in Brooklawn Memorial Park. There will be a reception at the church following the graveside services.

Gary’s life was centered around his “LORD & SAVIOR”, and he passed that heritage to his family. We have peace knowing we will see him again in Heaven.
