Gary W. Williams, age 80, of Grants Pass, OR, passed away on November 9, 2025.
Gary was born on February 26, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas. After Gary graduated from high school in 1963, he joined the Army and served from 1965 to 1967. After an Honorable Discharge, he started working for the post office and worked until his retirement in 2000.
In 1989, Gary met the love of his life, Christine Fager at work. They married on April 27, 1998 in Chandler, Arizona.
Gary had two children from a previous marriage, Jennifer Ernst and Jeffrey Williams.
Throughout his life, Gary had an avid interest in air racing. He returned repeatedly to the Reno Air Races and knew many of the teams and pilots. He compiled a documented historical record of air racing in the United States that is currently part of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum archive. He also wrote for Arizona Flyways magazine.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Christine Fager; his daughter, Jennifer Ernst; his son Jeffrey Williams; and his grandchildren Zachary Williams, Sarah Williams, Madeline Williams, and Carolyn Roderique.
Private family services will be held.
