Gary Young Obituary

Bryan - Gary Robert "GR" Young, 63, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on January 10, 2026. He was born August 4, 1962, in Napoleon, Ohio, lived a life defined by devotion, quiet strength, and a love that never wavered.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary Young and Carolyn Young, whose values he carried forward in everything he did.

GR was the beloved husband of Barb Young, the love of his life, his anchor, and his greatest blessing. Their marriage was built on loyalty, trust, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they created a home filled with steadiness, laughter, and unconditional love. Barb was not only his wife, but his partner in every sense, and GR's greatest pride was the life they built side by side.

He was a fiercely proud and devoted father to Alex Ellis and Levi Young. GR loved his children not just with words, but through presence, sacrifice, and example. He showed them what it meant to work hard, stand firm, and always put family first. His love was steady, protective, and enduring, a foundation they will carry with them forever.

Of all the roles GR cherished, none brought him greater joy than being Pawpaw to his grandchildren, Kamari Young and Ryott Young. They were his heart, his laughter, and his greatest happiness. Every moment spent with them was treasured. To Kamari and Ryott, Pawpaw was comfort, warmth, and unconditional love, a safe place in this world that will never fade.

GR is also survived by his siblings, Deb Bostleman, Pat Geahlen, and Greg Young, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who were blessed by his loyalty, kindness, and quiet generosity.

A true working man, GR took immense pride in providing for his family. He believed love was shown through action, and he lived that belief every day. When he wasn't working, he found peace and joy in hunting, football, and racing, simple pleasures that brought him happiness and connection with those he loved. Whether outdoors, cheering at the TV, or soaking in race day excitement, these moments were part of who he was. GR will be remembered for his strong hands that never tired, his dependable heart that never failed, and the deep, unwavering love he gave without needing recognition. His legacy lives on in the family he protected, the values he instilled, and the love that will echo through generations. Young forever.

Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 12 p.m. Noon until the time of services at 4 p.m. Interment will be private.
