It is with immense grief and the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of Gavin Charles Efstratios of Atkinson, New Hampshire, who left this world far too soon on July 24, 2025, at just 23 years old. Gavin was a bright light - someone whose quiet presence still somehow filled every
room, whose laughter -especially when something truly cracked him up- stuck with you long after, and whose love left a lasting mark on every single person lucky enough to have known him.
Gavin loved deeply and lived with quiet passion. He kept his circle close; consisting of family and a handful of friends he had known for years, holding tight to the kind of bonds that don't break. Lacrosse was the only sport he ever truly loved, and nature always called to him - from
his early fascination with turtles, wolves, and reptiles, to his summers spent on Children's Island and a community service trip to the Dominican Republic. That trip, especially, sparked a deeper love for landscape and nature photography - something that would later inspire him to shift his
career path with the intent to begin pursuing drone photography with focus and purpose.
He was fortunate to spend time working at PMC, alongside his father, and over the years his cousins, brother-in-law, and a very close friend. These weren't just coworkers, they were his people. The bonds they built on and off the clock became some of the most meaningful relationships of his life. They were filled with laughter, loyalty, support, and a kind of deep, quiet love that can't be put into words. Throughout his years, he was surrounded by those who loved him with their whole hearts-and he felt it. He stayed connected to his core through long nights of gaming, late-night laughter, tv show and movie marathons, and conversations only those closest to him could understand. He was always down for a Borderlands, or Helldivers session with his dad, cousins, or friends. He shared his favorite tv shows, movies & animes with his sisters and cousins, and loved binge-watching good shows and movies with his mom. He could always be counted on for the perfect beer, audiobook, video game, tv show or movie recommendation.
Gavin had plans; big, beautiful, simple plans. His pride and joy, a 2017 Toyota Tacoma, was going to be his traveling home. He was slowly preparing to roam across North America, sometimes with his brother-in-law, and sometimes solo, with his other pride and joy Kuro by his side. Kuro was more than a dog, he was Gavin's blessing in disguise, his shadow, his safe place. The bond they shared went beyond words; Kuro loved Gavin with a loyalty that ran just as deep as Gavin's love for him. He wasn't just a pet; he was like a son, a constant at Gavin's side. From long road trips to quiet hikes and spontaneous day trips, Kuro was always in the passenger seat, right where he belonged - riding shotgun through life with the person who loved him most. To have truly known him was a gift. To hear that genuine chuckle when something really got him was something you never forgot. Since he was young, he always said he wanted to "roam the earth" - a dream that was slowly becoming his compass. He was observant, thoughtful, and had a quiet way of showing up for people that spoke volumes without needing attention.
He is survived by his loving mother, Amina Osgood, and his father, Charles Efstratios; his siblings, Tamara Swan, Tisha, Jace, Mia & Kit Efstratios; and his cherished nephew and niece, Reinol Swan and Tahliaa Seaforth, who adored him endlessly. He also leaves behind many
other loving family members-his grandparents, stepparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends-each of whom carry pieces of his heart and memory with them always.
The family will be holding private services to honor Gavin in the way that feels most personal and meaningful to them. They appreciate the outpouring of love and support and ask for continued prayers and gentle remembrance as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
