Our beloved Son/Grandson Gavin McKay Hancock passed away in his sleep January 6, 2025 at age 31. I raised him and spoiled him rotten because he had no one else. He loved playing Xbox, Addicted to it. His Xbox meant everything to him. Apparently, he passed while sitting in his chair, probably playing Xbox. I wish somehow I could make this bad dream go away. I'm going to miss you calling me saying, "Hello Mother"
A Few weeks ago, he told me at his funeral. He wants to have "Another One Bites The Dust" and Highway to Hell played, I said, "Stop talking stupid. I will be gone before you." He said he couldn't survive without me. Now I have to survive without him. Rip my Sweet B a b y Born August 19, 1993, in West Valley, Utah to Shalon Foutz. Gavin was raised by his Grandmother, (Mom) Terran Mounteer & Grandfather ("Papa Jim," Jim Mounteer.)
He was a very active child. He loved rollerblading skateboarding, biking fishing. But most of all his mad talent was playing Xbox. It was his passion in fact. Graduated from Independence High 2011 He has had struggles throughout his life but always tried to have a smile no matter what.
The past year he has accomplished so much. He got himself an apartment and was working at Mountain Land Supply as a truck driver. He enjoyed it but fell off the back of a truck and broke his back. He was put on light duty in the office and the receptionist job came available and he applied and got it. He was ecstatic. It was perfect for him. Then he started having some pains in his calf which moved up to his thigh, turned out to be blood clots. He took off a couple of days because of the pain and was terminated. He was devastated. He loved that job. He fell into a depression saying he had no reason to be here. Nobody liked him. I will miss him every day. I wish he could just see all the people who really did care about him.
He had two daughters Trinity Mooney(Ash) and Stevie Maxine Dunn
Survived by Shalon Foutz, Shaiden White, Jim Mounteer (Terran) Gordon Hancock (Louise), Diana Lake, Robert Hancock (Vikki) Brian Hancock (Heather). Proceeded in death by his brother Cryus Carpenter.
His favorite color was purple • so if you would like to wear something purple please do.
