Gay Melanie Gramkow, a cherished resident of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the age of 62. Born in Sanford, Florida, on Tuesday, January 22, 1963, she lived a life filled with dedication, love, and unwavering compassion.
A devoted wife, Gay leaves behind her beloved husband, James Saunders, III, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bette Gramkow, whom she dearly loved and often spoke about with fond memories.
Gay pursued her education with determination, attending university where she laid the foundation for her future career. She found her calling as a Fraud Investigator, a role in which she dedicated herself to upholding integrity and justice. Her colleagues frequently praised her attention to detail and her unwavering sense of fairness.
In her personal life, Gay was known for her warm heart and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her friends and family will forever remember her infectious laughter and the joy she brought into their lives. She was passionate about her community in Aiken and contributed to its well-being in numerous ways.
A memorial service will take place at a later date in Florida.
