Gayla Sue Sharp

Gayla Sue Sharp, 58, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, passed away on September 20, 2024. Born in Tishomingo on December 5, 1965, to Roy Lee and Barbara Sue Sharp, Gayla was a cherished member of her community and a devout Christian.
She attended Ravia Grade School and graduated from Ravia High School, where she formed many lifelong friendships. Gayla dedicated much of her time to raising cockatiels, a passion that brought joy not only to her but to everyone who visited her home. Her love for cooking was renowned among her family and friends, often gathering them for memorable meals.
A fan of country music, Gayla especially loved the songs of Eric Church. Her weekends were joyously spent watching her great-great-nephews play, cherishing every moment of their youthful exuberance.
Gayla is survived by her sister, Virgie Pitman; nephew, Terry Hughes; niece, Christie French; great-nieces, Katy, Jenna, Lanie, and Makayla; great-nephews, Terry and Kody; and great-great niece and nephews, Hazel, Terry, Gunner, and Cainan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Barbara Sue Sharp and brother Jerry Sharp.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 PM in the Hartwell Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will take place on Tuesday at 10 AM at the Tishomingo City Cemetery, where friends and family will gather to honor her life and legacy. Gayla's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on through the memories she leaves behind.
