Gayle Vergene Kranau
December 10, 1935 – February 16, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gayle Vergene Kranau, who entered the glory of the Lord on February 16, 2025. She was born on December 10, 1935, in Central City, Nebraska, to Irvin Charles Fossberg and Aleta Leona Youmans.
Gayle grew up alongside her siblings Denzil Levon, Dudley Harl, Lola Jean, and JoAnn Annetta. On November 27, 1955, she married the love of her life, Vernon Arthur Kranau, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering faith.
She was a devoted mother to her five children: Victor (wife Dianne), Randall (wife Billie), Carolyn (husband Chris), Julie, and Brian (wife Cheryl). Her greatest joys were her ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly and made attending her beloved family reunions always something to look forward to.
Gayle's heart and home were always open. She found joy in the simple things-baking cookies for neighborhood kids, making donuts that disappeared faster than she could fry them, and offering a comforting hug to anyone in need. As a natural caregiver, she was always ready to bandage a scraped knee, listen with a compassionate ear, or guide with gentle wisdom.
She wore many hats throughout her life-a nurse, an art teacher, a driver's education instructor, and even a farmhand when needed, driving the tractor to pick up hay bales. She loved sewing, reading, and crafting with her grandchildren, always creating something beautiful with her hands and her heart. Even in the smallest moments, she found ways to bring joy-lying on the floor to find shapes in the textured ceiling, laughing with her grandkids, and sharing her love through handmade treasures.
Gayle's faith was her foundation, and the words of Psalms 73:23-26 remind us of the steadfast love and strength she carried throughout her life:
"Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever carried in our hearts. Though our world is dimmer without her, we find comfort knowing she is now in glory, held in the arms of the Lord.
You will b forever loved, Grandma Kranau.

I´m so sorry. I enjoyed so much the times I visited with her and Vern, a lot of memories shared, and laughed a lot. She loved her family so much and felt very blessed
