Scott Edward Bonifas (1973-2025)
Scott Edward Bonifas has gone home to rest eternally on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Born September 24, 1973, to loving parents Kenneth and Dianna Bonifas in Hastings, Nebraska. Ever since he was a young boy, he had a great love of animals. For his confirmation, he chose St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. He participated in 4-H, showing everything from horses to hogs. He enjoyed many adventures with his two brothers Troy and Kent. He played every sport available and then some. He graduated from Silver Lake Highschool in 1992. He attended UNL and received a bachelor's degree in Animal Science in 1996. He met Stephanie Mack, and they were married on May 1st, 1999. Together they raised 3 kids at a farm near Rosemont, Nebraska. Scott loved his children and believed in instilling the values of hard work, prayer, and helping others. He touched the lives of many through his jobs at the Gottsch's Feedyard in Red Cloud, Nebraska and Norder's in Bladen, Nebraska. He was a proud Webster County 4-H Council member, on the South Central Cattleman's board, and enjoyed helping with the Webster Co rodeo every year. He had many hobbies from racing, fishing, hunting, and watching every single KC Royals game, but it was the cattle that held his heart. He enjoyed every bit of raising cows and believed that a horse trumped a four-wheeler any day. He was the type of person you call when you need help and he'd be there before you hung up. When cancer threw a wrench in his plans, he wasn't afraid. He fought it head on until the Lord called him home.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Peter and Aileen (Klein) Bonifas, Ervin and Irene (Utecht) Halbmaier, his mother-in-law Rita (Grimm) Mack. His godparents Bernie Bonifas and Sharon Blum
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Mack) Bonifas, his three children Taylor Bonifas, Jamie (Luke) Mathiesen, and Jake Bonifas. His parents Kenneth and Dianna Bonifas. His brothers Troy (Melissa) and Kent (Lacy) Bonifas. Father-in-Law, Steve Mack and Gayle Sister-in-Laws, Jessica (Kevin) DeMarco, Katie (Justin) Staab, Joni (James) Dinville and Brother-in-Law, Jordan Mack. Nieces and Nephews Aidyn and Justin Bonifas, Bentley and Nash Bonifas, Maverick DeMarco, Owen and Ellie Staab, Emersyn, Kooper, and Callen Dinville, Laynie, Ryker, and Harper Mack.
