Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery - West JordanGayle Mounteer Ostberg, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home in West Valley City, Utah, on October 9, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1950, in Murray, Utah, to Archie and Ellen Mounteer. On January 2, 1987, she married the love of her life, Eldon Ostberg.
Gayle was a kind, caring, and accepting woman whose warmth touched everyone she met. She had a gift for making friends easily and cherished the connections she built throughout her life. Gayle found joy in crocheting, cross-stitching, and working on puzzles, hobbies that reflected her patience and creativity. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Eldon Ostberg, her son, Shane Burke, and her grandson, Kevin Burke.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Beth, Mary Ann, and Shirley, and her brothers Glen and Larry.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, located at the same address.
