Gayle Elizabeth Sherrill, 79, of Leland, IL passed away on April 19, 2023 surrounded by family and loved ones. Gayle was born in Helena, MT, a place she held dear to her heart.
She worked as a Project Manager for many years at Lucent Technologies/AT&T retiring in 1998. She enjoyed cross stitching, cooking for her family, and traveling. Gayle volunteered at the Leland Historical Society and coauthored the updated version of the book, Leland “66”, for the 150th celebration of the town. Gayle will be dearly missed and always remembered by many.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, and a niece and nephew.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Tori) Sherrill of Fayetteville, AK, Travis (Carol) Sherrill, of Jacksonville, NC, Bernadette Sherrill of Leland, IL, Jennifer (Joe) Rozsypal of Leland, IL; grandchildren Candace, Jacob, Joey, Jadelynn, Grant, Xavier, Nichi, Cody, Jesse, great grandchildren Jocelyn, Natalie, and one due in August; sisters Ann (Pete) Buresh of Pembroke, GA, Susan Stefun of Boise, ID, and brother David Charnock of Boise, ID, and 10 nieces and nephews.
