Gaynell Turner Messer, 74, of Smiths Station, AL died at Mobile Infirmary, Mobile, AL on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Glenn Maddox officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Messer was born June 21, 1950, in Columbus, GA daughter of the late John Turner and Ruth Morton Turner. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts in her spare time. Mrs. Messer never met a stranger and showed love to everyone she met.
Mrs. Messer was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Turner and her husband, Charles S. Messer.
Survivors include her son, Steve Messer (Theresa), Saraland, AL; two sisters, Becky Slappey and Winnie Coyle (Pat); three grandchildren, Kayla Stanley (Tyler), Kaydie Messer and Kenadi Messer; three great-grandchildren, Ryker, Grady and Tilly; several nieces, nephews and friends.
